Against all odds:

Born premature with retinopathy of prematurity at 24 weeks left me with vision in one eye. I know I know…not a normal statement you might hear from a professional photographer. But it’s true!! My story is nothing short of a miracle. But against all odds I’m here, alive, thriving and pursing the plan and purpose God has put on my life.

How it started:

Photography wasn’t my “PLAN A” as a kid. If you would have asked me back in middle/high school…I wanted to work in animation. A little different than photography, right?!

I first chose to learn about photography in 4-H and later as a high school project. A senior project was required to graduate high school. That is where the love of photography started for me. After graduation, I attended LATI and graduated with an Associates Degree in Photography and Business. While attending LATI I named by business “How Eye See It Photography” and have since re-branded to “Maysa Oakly Photography”. Photography has been my full time job since 2016!
